“INTERACTIVE SUPPLY TENT” FOR ARMY SUSTAINMENT COMMAND
The exhibit provided the audience with an interactive presentation of the missions of the Army Sustainment Command. Themed for the fiftieth anniversary of the Army Materiel Command, the display recreated a Vietnam-era supply tent. It presented ASC as the single source for everything that a soldier needs, no matter what the mission is and no matter where on earth the need exists. Once the animated SpokesMannequin Supply Sergeant finished his introduction, the tent window transformed, revealing shelves with objects that were based on the fiftieth anniversary theme. The programming magic of the presentation was provided by the proprietary PeopleVision “ObjectInteractive” system. All of the objects on the shelves were actually interactive triggers and the window itself was a large multi-touch display.

“MISSION NAVIGATOR” FOR ARMY SUSTAINMENT COMMAND
In the experience, visitors were greeted with a mockup interior of an MRAP (Mine-Resistant, Armor-Protected) vehicle. Through the windshield, they could see a realistic scene from the point of view of a parked vehicle, directly behind a sally gate at a forward operating base. Menu icons representing ASC missions were displayed on a simulated, dash-mounted GPS screen. Visitors could scroll through the mission options by turning the steering wheel. The steering wheel motions controlled which mission option was featured on the GPS screen. When the desired mission was displayed, the visitor could trigger that presentation. Once a mission was selected, the display came to life. Sound effects simulated the starting of the diesel engine. Through the windshield, visitors watched as the gate opened, and the simulator drove through the gate and into a brief vignette describing the selected mission. Titles and graphics for the vignettes appeared as “heads up” displays on the windshield.
